Coming into the second day, the valkyries had an eight stroke advantage and managed to fire off a 316, totaling for the 636 for the tournament.

“I am happy with my overall season winning two tournaments myself, but at state the main thing I was focused on was the team,” said senior Katie Page, who competed in her fourth state championship. “When I saw my teammates on the final day all giving me thumbs up from the fairway, I had a feeling we could pull out the victory.”

Junior Rachel Gatholf agrees that “it just validates all the hard work we each put into the season…and makes your team that much better.”

Maddie Hamilton who is a two time state competing sophomore said “Winning state means everything to me and I will cherish the memories forever.” Hamilton said she is so proud of her teammates and what they were able to accomplish.
